PE Foaming Extrusion Mold Extrusion Process and Mold Configuration Instructions

1. For large-format solid cross-section PE foaming extrusion mold such as 100×100 and 80×80, cooling is severely affected. Pure PE without foaming is difficult to cool sufficiently for stable production; actual production must employ a foaming process.

2. For products with relatively thinner walls, such as 100×30, the process selection is more flexible. Both dense solid profiles and foaming processes can be used, allowing companies to choose freely based on product cost and performance indicators.

3. The main challenge in producing large-format, thick-section profiles lies in cooling efficiency. The heat from the thick-walled melt is difficult to dissipate, resulting in slow cooling. This places extremely high demands on the entire PE foaming extrusion mold post-forming cooling system. Therefore, this type of product requires a high-end cooling and shaping unit. The complete mold configuration includes an extruder head, five 300mm long shaping sections, two 3-meter stainless steel cooling water tanks, and ten water tank shaping blocks. Relying on multi-stage segmented cooling, it gradually removes internal heat from the profile, controlling profile shrinkage and deformation, avoiding later problems such as bending, cracking, and dimensional fluctuations, and ensuring the profile’s cross-sectional accuracy and appearance quality.

4. The extrusion process for ultra-thick, large-section PE profiles is complex. From die head flow channel design and shaping vacuum matching to cooling gradient settings, every parameter directly affects the final product.
