Sheet Extrusion Tooling

This type of mold presents three key challenges:

1. High Production Speed: The calibrator cannot use a standard cooling design. An open-water cooling device must be added immediately after the first section of the calibrator to rapidly cool down the profile.
2. Stringent Dimensional Tolerances: The die head must be designed to ensure consistent material flow and to compensate for fluctuations from the extruder and raw material. It requires a multi-zone design with individual feed channels to isolate the material flow in each section as much as possible, minimizing mutual interference.
3. Flatness Compliance: To meet the drawing requirements for flatness, the calibrator cannot adopt the traditional method with vacuum on both the top and bottom. A special approach is needed, employing vacuum on the top and open-water cooling on the bottom. This configuration ensures flatness while significantly increasing production speed.
