PC Extrusion Tooling
PC extruder head magnification is much greater than PVC, with a shaping magnification of 0.7%-1%. S136/DIN1.2316 steel must be used to maintain brightness. Short-section vacuum shaping reduces resistance. Single-arm, round-cavity, and 150mm square tubes are feasible, but large square tubes are difficult to form. Our patented PC extrusion tooling eliminates lampshade scratches, improving yield. AONA TOOLING has focused on this for 26 years.
Key Technologies and Patent Advantages of PC Extrusion Tooling
In the field of PC Extrusion Tooling, our company, with 26 years of profound technical accumulation, has developed a complete technical system and possesses numerous core patented technologies, providing customers with high-quality extrusion mold solutions.
I. Key Differences in Molding Processes
PC Extrusion Tooling differs significantly from PVC. The die head magnification of PC is much greater than that of PVC. This is determined by the high elastic memory characteristics of PC melt—the melt undergoes significant extrusion expansion after leaving the die, requiring precise magnification compensation to ensure the final dimensions of the product. The magnification of the shaping die is approximately 0.7%-1%, essentially consistent with PVC. Precise matching of this parameter directly determines the uniformity of the product wall thickness and dimensional stability.
II. Extreme Requirements for Steel
PC Extrusion Tooling involves extrusion temperatures as high as 280℃-300℃, and the melt viscosity is high, causing severe wear on the mold. Therefore, the die head and shaping die must be made of high-end mold steel such as S136 or German DIN 1.2316. This type of steel boasts high density, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. After cryogenic treatment and precision polishing, the mold cavity surface achieves a mirror-like finish. Only in this way can we guarantee excellent surface brightness and minimal scratches on the finished product, meeting the stringent appearance requirements of optical-grade PC products.
III. Short Setting and Vacuum System
PC has a high glass transition temperature (approximately 147℃), resulting in extremely short setting times. Our setting device employs a short-section design—each section only 150-200mm in length meets molding requirements—and is equipped with a vacuum adsorption system. This short setting design effectively reduces traction resistance, preventing stress whitening or surface damage caused by excessive friction during the setting process, making it particularly suitable for the production of transparent PC products.
IV. Sectional Selectivity
PC melt strength is high, offering high selectivity for sectional structures. Our PC Extrusion Tooling can successfully mold single-arm structures, circular cavity structures, and square tubes around 150mm in diameter. However, due to the limited flow characteristics of PC melt, molding large square tubes exceeding 150mm in diameter is extremely difficult. Our company possesses ample technical expertise and process reserves, enabling us to provide scientific evaluations for clients during the solution planning stage.
V. Patented Technology: Scratch-Free Process for Lampshade Products
In the extrusion of milky white PC lampshades, any minute scratches on the product surface are magnified under light, directly impacting light transmission and yield. Our company utilizes a self-developed patented technology, optimizing flow channel design, die lubrication, and shaping traction matching to achieve a completely scratch-free product surface. While this technology involves higher costs for PC Extrusion Tooling and related equipment, it significantly improves product quality and added value, with a short return on investment period, and has already brought considerable economic benefits to numerous lighting companies.
